"The World Cup sessions at the ISU World Cup Calgary started today with the 500m (1), 1500m, and both relay semifinals. In Friday’s qualifying heats, the women’s 3000m relay team came within one second of the American Record. Today, they broke the record by over three seconds and qualified for the B Finals.
With Katherine Reutter (Champaign, Ill.), Kristen Santos (Fairfield, Conn.), Jessica Kooreman (Melvindale, Mich.) and Kimi Goetz (Flemington, N.J.) on the ice squaring off against Canada, Hungary and Poland, the U.S. team battled and stayed stride for stride with last season’s World Championship silver medal team, Canada."
